The Saturday presidential and national assembly elections, which finally held is still shrouded in controversy. some parts of the country boiled, people were attacked and disenfranchised, some were bullied into voting for the ruling party, some ad hoc staff kidnapped, one INEC official dead, the stories continue.
Yet amidst all that, with the spate of results flagging the social media countless times, while many Nigerians married their television, awaiting INEC official result declaration, INEC postponed the results.
Yesterday Sunday, INEC Chairman Prof Mahmood, intimated Nigerians on the need to postpone collation of the presidential results due to late arrival of collation officers from their respective zones to Abuja. Also citing the re-run elections in some areas as factors, which also led to that decision.
Nigerians, today, wait with bated breath until 11am, when the results will be announced. The tension in the air can almost be felt visibly.
God bless Nigeria.
